Baby Update

So I only have a week left (technically), or so the countdown says. But according to my doctor...it might take longer than planned. Let me explain...

Monday I had a doctor's appointment, the first in a couple of weeks since my doctor was out of town. Before he left, he checked me and I was only dialated to MAYBE a 1 and was only about a -3 where my cervix was concerned. So when I had this appointment I was looking forward to how much progress I'd made. I wasn't expecting much but I'd been having contractions those 2 weeks and so I was sure that there must have been some kind of progress. But no. Nothing. I hadn't even started to thin!! So he stripped some of the membrain to see if that would help things along. But I have feeling it won't, just going off of previous experience ;)

But some good news. We had a little chat about induction and where I stand on the subject. I told him that I wanted to at least wait until the actual due date to see if he'd decide to come by himself. But if not, then PLEASE induce me! So I have an appointment on Tuesday and we're just going to go ahead and set up an induction date for BEFORE Thanksgiving. He's going to be out of town for the holidays and he said that he wanted to make sure the he's here for the birth and so we're going to play it safe by schedualing things this way. I really hope that Sawyer decides to come on his own before then mostly because I really want to experience what it's like to go into natural labor; but I'll be happy either way.

QUARANTINE

This picture sums everything up pretty well actually. Let's start from the beginning...

Last Saturday (Halloween): Steve wakes up with a fever of 101.5. He gets sicker as the day goes on; cold chills, aches, dizziness.

Sunday: Same as the day before.

Monday: We take him to the doctor's to get him tested for Swine Flu and for a doctor's note. They confirm it's Swine Flu...luckily we had already started him on Tamaflu Saturday night.

Tuesday: Steve starts feeling a little better, but still takes the day off of work. Teigan wakes up burning!! We take her temp. and it's over 100.0. We take her to the doctor's and they test her for Swine Flu but the doctor thinks it Croop. We take her home and give her some medicine for the fever and she just sleeps all day.

Wednesday: Steve goes back to work. Teigan still has a pretty high fever but she's up and running. Finally at 5:30 that evening the doctor's call back and confirm the Swine Flu for Teigan! They fax in a perscription for Tamiflu but my pharmacy was all out until the next afternoon!

Thursday: I am finally able to start Teigan on Tamiflu and cough medicine.

Friday: Teigan's fever has been gone since Wednesday night. She's finally starting to act normal...

Saturday: Teigan just coughs at night and has a bit of a runny nose during the day. But no fever!!

Sunday: We were able to go to church as a family!! And the QUARANTINE has been lifted from our home!!

*WHEW! It was an exausting week for all of us. I've gone through the house and disinfected EVERYTHING I can think of at least twice! I am forcing everyone to wash their hands all the time and use hand sanitizer for everthing! I'm just thankful that I haven't gotten sick...thank you vaccination. I just don't want to have any left-over germs around when Sawyer comes...I can't deal with anymore sickness!!!! AHHH!

Happy Halloween!

This year I wanted to make Teigan's costume since I have had the urge to be crafty lately. So I searched and searched for ideas that I thought I could handle & in the end, I came across this...
A cute tutu witch! It was a lot easier then I thought it would be, although it did take a lot of time. But it was worth it! Teigan was so excited to wear her tutu! And when I explained what Trick or Treating was, she was even more excited about the whole thing! It was so funny...she kept asking all day, "we go trick treating and get candy now?"

Here's my little witch after a big night of Trick or Treating (for the first time). She did so well; running up to every door all by herself and saying,"Trick or Treat!!!" Then she ran back every time saying, "I DID IT! I DID IT!!" The only thing missing was Steve...he came down with the flu. So we left him home and went out with the stroller and went to all our neighbor's and ward member's homes.

Posing for Mommy.

This one is my favorite! It was at our ward Trunk or Treat.
